Health care heroes: Staying positive through dance

Team members at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton are staying positive through the power of dance.

Nurses Jessica Brooks, Stephanie Carroll, Tricia Keller and Samantha Puhl are busting out the moves to keep smiles on everybody’s faces.

Working in the orthopedic unit, they recently began preparing to care for COVID-19 patients. Their spirit and attitude truly define what it means to be a Health Care Hero.

“We‘re fighting day in and day out to win the COVID war in Grafton. Here‘s to endless love and support for my coworkers and the lives we‘re saving,” says Puhl.

A week ago, our ortho unit turned into the designated COVID-19 unit. 🦠BIG YIKES 🦠 The past week has been pretty scary and full of change but also full of resilience. There have been tears, sleepless nights, and bruised noses (thank you @ N95 mask). I can‘t even begin to fathom how much scarier this would be if I didn‘t work with all these talented and caring nurses/CNAs + our relentless manager. We’ve gone from educating people how to walk with their new joints to fully caring for those who aren’t able to care for themselves. We’re smiling through the stress and tears. We‘re winning the covid war at Grafton right now on 4 West and we‘ll be fighting day in and day out to keep it that way. I never thought my last couple months before PA school would be spent on the front line against a pandemic. Here‘s to endless love and support for my coworkers and the lives we‘re saving 🩺💉4 West Ortho ➡️ 4 West Covid 🥽😷💪🏼 – – – – – – #healinghands #spreadkindness #covid_19 #ppe #n95mask #covidunit #physicianassistant #prepa #pastudent #palife #nursesunite #nursesinspirenurses #paschool #medschool #hospitallife #syringe #maskoff #matchweek #nurseappreciation #coworkersandfriends #futurepa #hospitalbed #pandemic2020 #frontline #nightshiftnurse #nurselife #nursingfamily #itscoronatime #stopstealingourmasks #tiktokcovid19
